FAQ

Our charters are licensed by the US Coast Guard for up to six people. Thus these are often commonly called "six pack" charters.
Gecko provides a blanket fishing license for all guests on a charter.
Please wear soft soled shoes for safety. Dress appropriately in layers. It is easier to take things off than cover up when you haven't brought enough clothes. You should bring a pair of sunglasses (polarized preferably). Other items would be sunscreen, hat or cap, and small cooler with your personal drinks, food and snacks. So that everyone has plenty of room please leave large coolers for your fish in your car until we get back.
Gecko provides all the fishing gear, fresh bait and ice needed to make your trip a success.
Please show up at the designated time even if you think the trip might get canceled. Often times the weather here can make incredible changes from a horrible forecast to a beautiful day for fishing. The captain reserves the right to make the call and you can rest assured that safety is always top on his list of considerations.
All legally caught fish become the property of the charter party to share. Some fish may be protected or out of season and the captain will let you know when that happens. Billfish like sailfish, white marlin and blue marlin are traditionally released here in order to protect the species.
Professional fish cleaning services are available at the dock or you can elect to take your catch with you to clean at your location.
Drinking is allowed in moderation but guests are always responsible for their actions. The captain is always in charge and he is legally responsible for the actions of all guests. He reserves the right to cut a charter short and return to the dock if any guest becomes unruly.
Smoking is allowed but for safety reasons not in the salon.
